We did it! We survived summer. We had far too many hot dogs, countless late night bedtimes, and trips the beach. We’ve baked, practiced spelling names, and had long walks in the neighborhood. We’ve built a fortress out of legos twelve billion times and dropped one to many s’mores around the fire. Sweet memories were made but I’m glaaaaaaad we are heading into a new season. Goodbye summer, hello fall.

My oldest started Pre-K and is LOVING it. He started at a new pre-school and is faring just fine. He’s so stinkin’ adorable and has the cutest crush on his teacher. Miss Kellie from Sunset Preschool is pretty much on par with a Disney princess around these parts.

Fall has also brought a little something new for me. I’m teaching a Bible study at The Table serving drinks and nibbles as we walk through scriptures. We had our first gathering and it was beautiful. Women with different stories and seasons gathered to listen, laugh, ponder, and pray. It was sacred and wonderful.

Now for the big news! As part of Learn How To Mom I want to use this platform to gather mamas to support and and extend a hand to other mamas. Every quarter I’ll be honing in on one cause or project that we can rally around to make a difference that serve mamas and children both here and abroad. For the fall we’ll be supporting a mama who is adopting from Tanzania. Adoption is close to my heart, inviting a child into your home, to become an heir, and to call them beloved is close is beautiful. I couldn’t be more excited to support a beautiful couple. I’ll have more details as time goes on but here’s how it will work for the fall. I’m asking you and friends to join me on a FB auction early November. We’ll have plenty of fabulous items to bid on and 100% of the proceeds will cover the adoption expenses. Consider it your early black Friday shopping with a cause. To be ready come November all you need to do is “like” the Learn How To Mom FB page and you’ll be ready to go. If you have a mama friend who is interested in giving don’t hesitate to pass this info on.

In the future these projects could range from a FB auction, writing letters to mamas in jail, or even a trip abroad serving mamas in another culture and country. I’m so excited at the possibilities! We are in this together!

In other news my favorite show, The Mindy Project on Hulu had their season premiere, and I just finished a hilarious and thought provoking book by Jen Hatmaker titled, “For The Love” and it is just tooooooo good. I highly recommend it.

XOXO,
